Impact

The haenyeo (female divers) working with Wave & Weave Alliance play a crucial role in protecting the marine environment by seeding young shellfish in the sea and collecting ocean debris.

Their activities greatly contribute to restoring marine ecosystems and maintaining the health of the oceans. Furthermore, they raise awareness about the importance of ocean conservation worldwide and encourage the preservation of marine ecosystems.

Each year, approximately 500,000 tons of marine debris enter the oceans globally, with the amount of plastic waste increasing by 4% annually.

This pollution threatens the survival of marine life, leading to the deaths of about 100,000 marine mammals and millions of other sea creatures each year due to environmental contamination. Through marine debris collection and recycling projects, we aim to purify the ocean environment and protect marine life and ecosystems.

Through collaboration with partners and local producers, we create new job and startup opportunities for the community.

We also jointly develop environmental protection projects with local communities to support active participation in environmental conservation. Our goal is to achieve both economic and environmental value for the community.
